ABSTRACT:
A low-pressure mercury vapor discharge lamp comprising a glass tube in which a metal oxide or phosphate layer and then a phosphor layer are formed on its inner surface, in which during operation of the lamp, the lowest temperature of the wall of the glass tube along its discharge path is kept at 80.degree. C. or above.
