ABSTRACT:
Stacker1for sheet-shaped objects is described having feeding device3for depositing sheet-shaped objects2in storage pocket4with variable capacity. Storage pocket4has contact surface5against which sheet-shaped objects2deposited in storage pocket4lie with one edge6, and storage tray7on which sheet-shaped objects2are stacked in storage pocket4flat and parallel to storage tray7. Storage tray7is mounted movably for changing the capacity of storage pocket4. Storage pocket4is disposed with contact surface5at an angle to the horizontal so that sheet-shaped objects2stacked in storage pocket4rest with their edges6on contact surface5and the resulting frictional force between edges6of sheet-shaped objects2and contact surface5substantially compensates the slope descending force acting on stack10formed of sheet-shaped objects2in the direction of storage tray7. Feeding device3exerts a force on stack10when depositing sheet-shaped object2at least as of certain stack thickness c, thereby moving storage tray7so as to enlarge the capacity of storage pocket4.
