ABSTRACT:
Heavy duty liquid detergent compositions containing an anionic surfactant component, fatty acid and a quaternary ammonium fabric-softening agent of the formula ##STR1## The anionic surfactant component comprises, by weight of the composition, from about 5% to 40% of alkyl polyethoxylate sulfates and no more than about 5% of alkyl benzene sulfonates. The compositions are substantially clear and isotropic, provide excellent cleaning of soils and provide softening through the wash and anti-static benefits. The compositions preferably also contain an ethoxylated nonionic surfactant, a detergent builder and enzymes.
