ABSTRACT:
A substantially light-insensitive black and white monosheet thermographic recording material comprising a support and a thermosensitive element, said thermosensitive element containing a substantially light-insensitive organic silver salt, an organic reducing agent therefor in thermal working relationship therewith, a binder and at least one 2-mercapto-benzothiazole compound represented by formula (I):wherein R1, R2, R3and R4are independently hydrogen, an optionally substituted alkyl group, an optionally substituted aryl group, an alkoxy group, an ester group, a carbamate group, a carbonate group, a SO2R5group, a —NR6R7group, a nitro group, a cyano group, an acyl group, a halogen atom, an optionally alkyl or alkoxy-substituted —SO2NH-phenyl group, a perfluoro-alkyl group, a —CONHR8group, a —NHOCR9group, a —OCOOR10group or a —NHCOOR11group; R5, R9, R10and R11are independently an optionally substituted alkyl or an aryl group; R6, R7and R8are independently a hydrogen atom, an optionally substituted alkyl group or an acyl group; R1and R2together, R2and R3together and R3and R4together can independently represent the atoms necessary to form a carbocyclic, aromatic, heteroaromatic or heterocyclic ring with the proviso that at least one of R1, R2, R3and R4is not hydrogen.
