ABSTRACT:
Storage-stable compositions adopted for the stabilization of hydrogen peroxide in aqueous alkaline media, e.g., bleaching or bleaching/desizing baths, include water and particular amounts of (i) an alkali metal hexametaphosphate, (ii) an alkali metal salt of diethylenetriaminepentamethylenephosphonic acid, (iii) potassium carbonate, K.sub.2 CO.sub.3, and (iv) sodium carbonate, Na.sub.2 CO.sub.3, with (iii) and (iv) characteristically being present in a total amount of about 300 g/l.
