ABSTRACT:
Para-cumylphenol is continuously produced by the reaction of purified phenol and alpha-methylatyrene in the presence of an acidic catalyst and an effective amount of hypophosphorous acid (H.sub.3 PO.sub.2) for stabilizing the color and UV absorption.
