ABSTRACT:
The present invention provides a hand held racquet having a racquet face for striking a ball, and having at least one mirror plane intersecting the planar surface, a shaft assembly connected to the racquet face and a handle assembly connected to the shaft assembly, having a grip portion designed to be grasped by the hand of the user. The grip portion has a longitudinal axis and a grip center, wherein the longitudinal axis intersects the mirror plane at an angle of about 5.degree. to 17.degree., substantially in the plane of the racquet face. The grip center is substantially in a mirror plane, and the grip portion incorporates at least one surface which is substantially parallel to the racquet face. The present invention also provides a hand held racquet wherein the handle assembly is connected in a manner fiat enables the angle of intersection between the longitudinal axis of the grip portion and the mirror plane to be adjusted in a rang of about 1.degree. to 90.degree..
