ABSTRACT:
A spinning reel comprising a reel body, a spool rotatably and axially movably supported on a spool shaft, and drag brakes for applying a braking force to rotation of the spool shaft. A retainer sleeve is rotatably but axially immovably supported by the reel body for holding the drag brakes. A flanged clutch sleeve is unrotatably and axially movably supported on the spool shaft to be engageable with the retainer sleeve. A control member is provided on the reel body and including contact portions opposed to front and rear faces of the flange of the clutch sleeve. The control member is operable by a clutch lever to move the clutch sleeve into and out of engagement with the retainer sleeve.
