ABSTRACT:
Somatostatin analogs which contain L-Arg.sup.4 -L-His.sup.5 amino acids residues in place of the normally present L-Lys.sup.4 -L-Asn.sup.5 residues are disclosed. Other modifications of somatostatin are also disclosed.
These compounds inhibit the release of pituitary growth hormone, glucagon, and insulin.
