ABSTRACT:
A fiber containing an organic acid salt of an intrinsically conductive polymer distributed throughout a matrix polymer along with a method for providing such fibers by spinning a solution which includes an organic acid salt of an intrinsically conductive polymer, a matrix polymer and a spinning solvent into a coagulation bath including a nonsolvent for both the organic acid salt of an intrinsically conductive polymer and the matrix polymer. The intrinsically conductive polymer-containing fibers typically have electrical conductivities below about 10.sup.-5 S/cm.
