A soluion for the fusion of a second metal to a first metal which comprises 0.10 to 10% of the second metal in a dissociable form; and a solvent chosen from the group comprising water, an organic solvent or a mixture thereof, the solution having a conductivity in the range 10 to 80 ohms cm.
