There is disclosed an improved solid fuel combustion assembly including a combustion chamber having a high heat capacity liner and provided with primary and secondary combustion supporting fluid conduits to thereby achieve combustion temperatures in the combustion chamber of from 1000.degree. C. to 1200.degree. C.
