ABSTRACT:
A solenoid type device as a magnetic switch of a starter10comprises an exciting coil3fthat is energized and generates magnetic force, a plunger3athat is a moving core which is a part of the magnetic circuit, and a fixed core3jthat faces the moving core and is also a part of the magnetic circuit. The moving core plunger3ais divided into concentrically the first plunger31and the second plunger32a. This configuration allows the second plunger32ato be attracted first and then the first plunger31ato be attracted.Thereby, it is possible to make a small and light magnetic switch while ensuring that the magnetic switch maintains sufficient attraction force as well as to increase reliability of operations of the magnetic switch even when battery voltage is low.
