ABSTRACT:
A solenoid control valve includes a solenoid housing which encloses a solenoid and an armature which is actuated by the solenoid in order to control the flow of fluid through the valve. Contact spring makes continuous electrical contact with the armature and the armature is electrically insulated from the valve except when the solenoid brings the armature into contact with a stop portion which is integrally formed in the body of the valve. Contact between the armature and the stop completes an electrical circuit between the sring contact, the armature and the valve body, thereby providing a precise electrical indication of the mechanical state of the valve without any degradation due to hysteresis or mechanical losses.
