ABSTRACT:
A socket for an electrical part has a socket body14and a contact pin15. The contact pin15has a fixed portion15efixed to a through hole14dof the socket body14, a plate-like elastic pieces15bextending upward from the fixed portion15eand a contact portion15cto contact the electrical part. The elastic piece15bis elastically deformable along a plate surface of the elastic piece so as to cause the contact portion to contact to and separate from a terminal of the electrical part. A biting portion15fformed between the fixed portion15eand the contact portion15cfor biting a bitten portion14hformed on an inner wall of the through hole14d. When the biting portion15fbites the bitten portion14h, vertical movement of the contact pin15is restricted and also a preload is given to the elastic pieces15bin a direction of closing the contact portion15cof the elastic piece15b.
