ABSTRACT:
Aqueous waste streams with high chemical oxygen demand and high nitrate levels are treated in a single-stage anaerobic digester by the use of a nutrient mix that includes NiCl.sub.2 plus one or more water soluble salts of Fe, Ca, Co, Mo, K, or P, in addition to the denitrifying bacteria and yeast, using pH control and temperature control.
