ABSTRACT:
Single component inorganic/organic network materials incorporating the physical properties of glasses with the flexibility of organic materials of empirical formula X(SiO.sub.1.5).sub.n wherein X is one or more flexible organic linkages and n is greater than or equal to 2, as well as precursors thereof, are disclosed.
