ABSTRACT:
A compound of the general formula (I): ##STR1## (in which EAG represents an electron accepting group; R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each represents a substituent except hydrogen; and R.sup.1 and R.sup.2, R.sup.1 and EAG, and R.sup.2 and EAG may be bonded together to form a ring) is incorporated into a silver halide photographic material. The compound of the formula (I) becomes oxidative after cleavage of the nitrogen-oxygen single bond in the molecule, and the compound displays an action as an antifoggant, a stabilizer and/or a black spot preventing agent in the photographic material.
