ABSTRACT:
There is disclosed a silver, halide photographic light-sensitive material having a high sensitivity and gradation as well as a low fog while exhibiting an excellent aging stability. The light-sensitive material has at least one silver halide emulsion layer on a support, wherein the emulsion is spectrally sensitized at a pH of 5.3 to 6.0 by adding at least one of an oxacarbocyanine dye represented by the following formula (I) to the emulsion before the addition of a chemical sensitizer and thereafter chemically sensitized by adding a chemical sensitizer. A compound represented by the following formula (II) is present in the emulsion layer or a layer adjacent thereto: ##STR1## wherein the substituents are as defined in the specifications.
