ABSTRACT:
A color photographic element includes a support, a silver halide emulsion layer, and associated therewith a phenolic dye-forming coupler having the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents hydrogen, a straight or branched chain alkyl group having 1 to about 20 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl group having about 3 to 8 carbon atoms in the ring, or an aryl group having 6 to about 20 carbon atoms;
