ABSTRACT:
There is disclosed a silver halide photographic light-sensitive material which has a high sensitivity and is less susceptible to an increase in fog and fluctuation of sensitivity during storage at a high temperature and/or a high humidity. The light-sensitive material contains at least one methine compound represented by Formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents an alkyl group; R.sub.2 represents an alkyl group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group; L.sub.1, L.sub.2, L.sub.3 and L.sub.4 each represents a methine group; Z.sub.1 represents a group of atoms necessary to form a 5- or 6-membered nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring; n.sub.1 represents 0 or 1; n.sub.2 represents 0 or an integer of 1 to 4; n.sub.3 represents an integer of 1 to 10; D represents a group of atoms necessary to form an acidic nucleus; M.sub.1 represents a charge-neutralizing ion; and m.sub.1 represents a number of 0 or more which is necessary to neutralize a charge contained in the compound.
