ABSTRACT:
The present invention relates to a silver halide emulsion containing a thiocyanate and having a high sensitivity in particular to light of a low illuminance. According to the present invention, a silver halide emulsion is provided, wherein the IR absorbance at 2052 cm.sup.-1 due to thiocyanate ion contained in the silver halide grain of the emulsion is observed and a tricarboxylic acid or its salt is contained in the emulsion.
