A silver halide color photographic material is disclosed, comprising a support having thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer, which contains at least one compound represented by formula (I) in the silver halide emulsion layer or in a light-insensitive hydrophilic colloid layer: ##STR1## wherein X represents a divalent linking group connected to the carbon atom through a hetero atom in X;
