ABSTRACT:
A silicide of a refractory metal such as Cr, Mo, Ta, Nb, W, Zr, Ti and V, preferably CrSi.sub.2 and MoSi.sub.2 are materials that are resistant to attack by molten metals, such as zinc, and which materials can provide coatings for various articles. The method for producing the coated materials is also disclosed.
