A capacitive signal dependent upon a quantity being measured is produced by capacitive sensors of a radiosonde. An oscillator in the radiosonde has an output frequency, controlled by the capacitive signal, in the order of 1 to 10 MHz. The output frequency of the oscillator is divided by a factor of 2.sup.7.
