ABSTRACT:
Ammunition is disclosed for firing a shotgun slug from a rifled shotgun having a range of about 300 meters. The shotgun ammunition comprises a cartridge, propellant, a fiber wad, and a slug. The slug includes a nose having a parabolic cross-section, a frustoconical rotation ring, and the slug has an internal cavity. The increased range enhances a shotgun's use in hunting, military, and police applications.
