ABSTRACT:
A shift lever apparatus includes a base member, a shift lever, and one or more planar four-bar linkage mechanisms supporting the shift lever so as to be movable relative to the base member. The four-bar linkage mechanism includes four link elements including a base-side link element, a lever-side link element, and a pair of connecting link elements. The shift lever is supported by the lever-side link element, and the base member supports the base-side link element. The four-bar linkage mechanism includes an operational plane in which the four link elements conduct a link motion. The lever-side link element is parallelly or substantially parallelly shiftable in the operational plane relative to the base member so that the shift lever can shift parallelly or substantially parallelly in the operational plane relative to the base member.
