ABSTRACT:
The shelf carousel comprises an upright support frame, guide tracks arranged on the support frame, shelves arranged for movement along the guide tracks, a shelf stabilizer track fixed adjacent the top end of the guide tracks, a shelf stabilizing member fixed to the shelf, and drive chains connected to the shelves for providing movement along the guide tracks. The guide track includes an upper track portion and a lower track portion. The lower track portion is wider than an upper track portion and lies out of line of the upper track portion. Shelves moving on the lower track portion move out of line with each other and towards the user as the shelves pass the user. The stabilizing track and shelf stabilizing member help reduce tipping or swinging of the shelves as the shelves move through the turn at the top of the guide track.
