ABSTRACT:
There is provided a punch for use in cold forming hollow metal articles in a die without wrinkling. The punch is provided with a head portion composed of resiliently deformable material, such as an elastomer, with cavities located in the head portion to permit controlled collapse of the head portion under transverse forces exerted during a forming operation.
