ABSTRACT:
An improvement in a machine, typically a photocopy machine which utilizes individual sheets of paper which are stored in the machine as a stack of sheets and having feeding means for feeding the uppermost sheet from the stack. A removable tray having a movable support member therein is normally disposed in the machine, and an elevating mechanism automatically raises the support member in the tray in order to bring the topmost sheet of the stack into engagement with the feeding means. Camming members in the tray and the elevating mechanism cooperate with each other to depress the elevating mechanism to an inoperative position when the tray is being inserted into and removed from the machine. The above improvement is equally adaptable to use as an independent sheet feeding mechanism.
