The present invention provides a shared information processing system, such that information can be shared between a plurality of clients and a server with a chat system is constructed, and it is possible to acquire from a server or other clients information about files frequently used by a user registered at a client, or update information thereof, and to display this information. A client terminal200includes a link file registration component211that notifies a server terminal100of registration information for link files, a link file manager212that acquires and manages information pertaining to link files, and a link file status display component213that displays information pertaining to link files; and a server terminal100includes a link file information notification component102that acquires information pertaining to link files and sends this information to the client terminal200.
