ABSTRACT:
A servo steering gear for motor vehicles has an alleviator controlled, constant pressure servo system including an input member operatively connected to a steering wheel of a vehicle and an output member operatively connected to the steered wheels of the vehicle. A servo motor is operatively connected to the output member, and is controlled by an arrangement including valve elements so disposed that an automatic restoration of the steered wheels can take place and that pressure-loaded reaction faces provided on the valve elements generate a reaction which a driver of the vehicle can feel, and which, at least within a defined range, depends on the reactive forces generated by the steered wheels.
