Seco-baccatin III derivatives of formula:wherein R, R1-R4,delete-start id="DEL-S-00001" date="20070710" ?R1delete-end id="DEL-S-00001" ?insert-start id="INS-S-00001" date="20070710" ?R′insert-end id="INS-S-00001" ?,delete-start id="DEL-S-00002" date="20070710" ?R11delete-end id="DEL-S-00002" ?insert-start id="INS-S-00002" date="20070710" ?R″insert-end id="INS-S-00002" ?, anddelete-start id="DEL-S-00003" date="20070710" ?R111delete-end id="DEL-S-00003" ?insert-start id="INS-S-00003" date="20070710" ?R′″insert-end id="INS-S-00003" ?are disclosed herein; pharmaceutical compositions comprising seco-baccatin III derivative; and methods for treating cancer, arthritis, and inhibiting angiogenesis in an animal comprising administrating to a patient in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a seco-baccatin III derivative are disclosed.
