ABSTRACT:
A self-locking female electrical socket having an automatic release mechanism. The female socket includes releasable balls that urged into locking engagement with the prongs of a male plug. The plug may be released for reasons of maintaining cord in tact through deflection of a deflectable element positioned adjacent the prong.
