ABSTRACT:
In a self light emitting display device of the present invention, a first electrode3for example formed of a thin film of ITO is formed in a striped pattern on a glass substrate2, and a film of a light emission functional layer6is formed thereon. A metallic second electrode7is formed on the light emission functional layer6, and a light transmitting sealing member8for example formed of a glass material is superimposed on the second electrode7. Apertures7afor allowing image light from the light emission functional layer6to pass through are formed on a part of the second electrode7, a first light emitting area L1is formed in the glass substrate2side, and a second light emitting area L2is formed in the sealing member8side. As a result, display images can be visually recognized on both front and rear surfaces.
