ABSTRACT:
A means is provided to display a picture with a portion magnified while the est of the picture remains constant. The timing and clock rate applied to a solid state sensor (such as charge coupled devices or self-scanning photo-diode arrays) are adjusted so that the output of the sensor will provide a variable zoom video to be displayed by a standard TV monitor.
