A selective herbicide composition comprising as an active ingredient at least one herbicidal compound selected from the group of thiolcarbamate, triazine, chloroacetanilide, carbamide or phenoxyacetic acid herbicides in admixture with a quantity of 0.1 to 50% (by weight of the herbicidal compound) of a dichloroacetamide derivative of the formula I ##STR1## wherein X is oxygen, sulphur, SO or SO.sub.2,
