ABSTRACT:
A device for aligning multiple shaft segments which are coupled together to form a single rotating shaft. The device has two elongate cylindrical bars each having an annular, axially extending outer surface, one end by which it is rotatable, and the other end which is engagable and disengagable to the other cylindrical bar. One of the bars is inserted into an aperture of one of the shaft segments and the other bar is inserted into the other one of the shaft segments. The engageable and disengagable sections of the bars are arranged such that when the bars are engaged the force of the bar that is rotated is transferred to the other bar and when the rotated bar is rotated from the engaged position the bars are not in contact.
