ABSTRACT:
A disc brake pad comprises a plurality of sintered metallic friction elements, each having a braking surface area of less than 2 in.sup.2 (12.6 cm.sup.2) which are individually mounted on a steel plate or on a flexible carrier plate which is riveted at spaced points about its periphery to the back plate.
