ABSTRACT:
A security system for digital x-ray images is disclosed. In one example system, a direct capture digital x-ray imaging device is used to capture digital x-ray images. The direct capture digital x-ray imaging device then associates an identifier with the image. This identifier identifies the source of the image as being that particular device. In some example systems, the identifier is used to create a digital signature that identifies that particular image as being from that particular device. Some systems optionally include image encryption and/or compression.
