ABSTRACT:
A secondary battery includes an electrode group5formed by winding a positive electrode plate1and a negative electrode plate2with a separator3interposed therebetween. Each of the positive and negative electrode plates1and2includes a current collector1and mixture layers8and9each containing an active material and formed on the surface of the current collector1. A plurality of trenches30are formed in the surfaces of the mixture layers8and9of at least one of the positive electrode plate1and the negative electrode plate2. The trenches30have curvature portions at side edges30band bottom centers30athereof.
