A twin float aircraft (1) which has a retractable float (4and5) for each side of a fuselage (3) providing buoyancy for the aircraft during take off and landing and reduced air resistance during flight with each of the floats (4and5) being articulated (12and13) to assist streamline alignment when retracted.
