ABSTRACT:
A scroll type compressor which includes a spacer between the fixed scroll base plate and the frame, with the spacer disposed about the orbiting scroll. The spacer is coupled to the fixed scroll and frame, and can be coupled to a center shell of the compressor, for example, by a shrinkage fit. Further, one or more bolts extend from the fixed scroll base plate through the spacer and into the frame. In addition, one or more bolts can be provided which extend from the spacer to the frame to provide for positioning of the spacer with respect to the frame.
