ABSTRACT:
The present invention relates to a sash window comprising a window frame made of wood and in which are mounted glazed sashes, at least one being slidable. On each jamb of the window frame is mounted a track with two pairs of guiding projections, each pair of projections being received in corresponding grooves provided on the sash frames. The guiding projections allow the sliding sash to move by translation in the window frame. The sliding sash may also be tilted out of the window frame by pulling the sash for disengaging the guiding projections from the corresponding guide grooves. When tilted, the sash remains attached to the window frame by a pair of runners received in the tracks on the jambs of the window frame.
