ABSTRACT:
In the preparation of a sample to be subjected to chromatographic separation and analysis, dilution of a sample of material to be analyzed is accomplished by combining a flow containing the sample material with a diluting flow. The diluted sample material thus obtained is sampled and analyzed. In one preferred embodiment spent carrier fluid from the chromatographic separation column can be used as the diluting stream.
