ABSTRACT:
An alkali salt composition free from hydroxides, melting at a temperature in the region of or greater than 180.degree., and usable in its molten state as a negative electrolyte for accumulators comprising an alkali metal negative electrode and an alkali alumina separator, contains an alkali metal amide, at least one alkali halide and an alkali hydride. It may also contain aluminium amide.
