ABSTRACT:
A dry and free-flowing composition containing salt, C.sub.2 to C.sub.6 monohydric and/or polyhydric alcohol, diatomaceous earth (or suitable substitute) and sodium metasilicate characterized by a particle size smaller than about 80 mesh. The composition is useful for facilitating the melting and removal of snow and ice.
