ABSTRACT:
A locking mechanism for a pyrotechnic safe and arm interrupter98may be constructed with an external lock casing2, longitudinally extending bolt3, washer4, spring5, retaining ring8and interlocking element9that may be configured in various shapes and features corresponding with a safety release component. A key10may be constructed with key stem11, handle12and two pairs of teeth13, 14of different diameters radially protruding from successively reduced diameters along a distal portion of key stem11. Lock1may be installed with notch19in alignment with a corresponding feature of the safe and arm interrupter mechanism and fastened in place with mounting holes20so that only mounting flange17and the key access18are external to the interrupter device, panel or door.
