ABSTRACT:
A safety device for a folding chair includes a base, a handling piece, a pair of casings and a retaining piece. The retaining piece having a retaining hole is mounted on a bottom of a seat. The handling piece is pivotally connected inside the base, and the casing encloses the base and one of rear legs. The handling piece has a hook and a pressing portion at an upper end and a lower end respectively. When the seat is pressed down, the retaining piece glides between the hook and the rear leg. Then, the hook is engaged with the retaining hole. Therefore, the chair is locked in an open position and children's safety is ensured. When lifting the seat, the pressing portion is pressed to disengage the hook from the retaining piece. The chair is folded to a closed position.
