ABSTRACT:
A safety device for a passenger conveyor such as an escalator or a moving walk having an improved safety performance and a simple configuration. The safety device separately detects the forward and upward displacements of a combplate beam12with respect to a supporting beam13with a single safety switch actuated by a switch actuating member having first and second actuating portions to stop an operation of the passenger conveyor. Thus, the improved safety performance and a simple configuration can be achieved, and a combplate made of aluminum alloy can be used.
